| Snooker star launches SIV corporate evening |
 South Yorkshire businesses were in the frame for success when a special snooker event was launched in
Sheffield
.
Representatives from 16 local companies and organisations attended the Corporate Snooker Evening with Peter Ebdon held at the
World
Snooker
Academy
, based at the English Institute of Sport – Sheffield (EISS).
Guests took part in a mini snooker tournament at the Academy with the winner getting the unique chance to play against the world number seven in the final.
Peter, a resident player at the
Snooker
Academy
, was on hand to demonstrate a number of trick shots and also hosted a question and answer session.
This pilot event, sponsored by Yorkshire South, also included a two-course meal at the EISS.
Paul Hudson
, sales manager at Sheffield International Venues (SIV), which manages the EISS and organised the event, said: “The Corporate Snooker Evening is a fantastic new concept and it was great to have such an experienced professional in Peter Ebdon to help us launch the event.
“The evening was a huge success and we are looking to develop more events of this kind throughout 2008. It is something totally unique to
Sheffield
and this country and a great alternative form of client entertainment.”
