Husayn Rosowsky from the Sheffield Sword Club turned in a great performance for Britain at the Junior/Cadet World Championships in Acireale, Italy yesterday, to win a bronze medal in Cadet Men's Foil. In the pools, he won five of his six fights to start DE as 12th seed. From there he took two 15/11 victories before stopping Satoshi Matsuoka of Japan convincingly 15/7 then the Ukraine's Igor Revutsky 15/12. In his semi-final though Husayn lost out 15/10 to home fencer Daniele Garozzo who went on to take the title.
Sheffield Sword Club is open to fencers of all abilities. There is no membership fee, offering you 'pay as you go' fencing with coaching and kit hire included!
The club offers 6-week courses to train beginners in basic skills.
