The Warm up for this years English Schools Athletics event will take place at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield before moving on to Don Valley Stadium for the event...
The English Schools Athletics Championships attract more than 2,000 competitors and is the largest athletics meeting in the country.
Any famous name in British Athletics will talk in glowing terms of their feats at "the English Schools", as they are known. They are an institution. Steve Cram, Lord Sebastian Coe, Paula Radcliffe, Jonathan Edwards, Dame Kelly Holmes all tasted early success at these championships, so who knows who will appear out of the pack this year.
Each competing athlete will have gone through a series of qualifying stages, having been selected to compete for their school, then their district, then their county. Winning at county level and achieving the qualifying standard, allows them entry into these Championships at U15, U17 or U19 level, to represent their county.
The action is non stop from 10am to 6.30pm on both days, so there will be plenty to see throughout the day.
Tickets will be available online or in person from Sheffield Arena from 22 June and from Don Valley Stadium on the days of the event.
On Friday 10 July, adult tickets cost £10, concessions are £5, family tickets are £25 and school groups pay 50p per person.
On Saturday 11 July, adult tickets cost £12, concessions are £6, family tickets are £30 and school groups pay £1 per person.
