The English Amateur Snooker Championship
Sheffield snooker star Adam Duffy will take part in his first major tournament since becoming the new Paul Hunter Scholar in his home city this weekend.
The 19 year old, who received the scholarship at the 888.com World Snooker Championship semi-finals at the Crucible, is set to compete in the English Finals.
The Yorkshire South-sponsored event will take place from Saturday 17 – Sunday 18 May at The World Snooker Academy, which is based at the English Institute of Sport – Sheffield (EISS) where Adam trains.
The Paul Hunter Scholarship is an annual award, set up as a tribute to three-times Masters champion Hunter, who died in October 2006. Each year, the award allows one of snooker’s most promising young players to train for a year at the World Snooker Academy.
