EIS Sheffield is a state of the art sports and conferencing venue boasting superb facilities for all occasions.  The venue caters for all sectors of the community and we have a range of activities to suit all tastes.

 

Our Venue

Our venue contains the following facilities:

 

  • Fitness Unlimited Gym - winner of the prestigious FLAME fitness industry award and a great place to fulfil your fitness aims. The gym is open to all - please click here for further information..

 

  • Athletics Hall containing a 200 metre oval, 140 metre sprint straight and a throws cage with spectator seating.

 

  • Netball Hall - 3 courts catering for Netball, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Futsal and Sportshall Athletics.

 

  • Badminton Hall - 4 courts of badminton with spectator seating in a hall designed specifically for badminton but also suitable for all the sports mentioned in the netball hall.

 

  • Multi Purpose / Table Tennis Hall - 2 multifunctional sports halls which are ideal for martial arts, table tennis, volleyball, boxing, fencing or for fitness classes and general sports use.

 

  • Meeting Rooms - we have a range of meeting rooms in the venue to cater for meetings and conferences or to provide breakout rooms to support sports activities.

 

Our Activities

All of the areas mentioned above are available to hire by the hour, please see our price list for further details.

We also offer a comprehensive range of coached activities for both children and adults including our Athletics Academy, Martial Arts classes, EISS Boxing Club and Women's Boxing. Please see our activity timetable for further details.

The venue is home to many clubs including City of Sheffield Athletics Club, Hallamshire Harriers and Brunswick Badminton Club.

Schools can access the facilities in a number of ways. Why not hold your sports day here or come and take advantage of our great Tour and Activity sessions? We also offer tailor made packages for school groups so please get in touch with us to discuss these. Alternatively you could just hire any of the spaces mentioned above and do your own thing.

Children (and parents!) can benefit from our School Holiday Club which offers a broad range of activities delivered by our trained coaches. We also offer tailor made Birthday Party packages and a variety of other children's activities - please see our Young People's Activities section for details.

The venue also hosts a wide variety of events from Athletics to Fencing amongst many, many more. We are home to the Sheffield Sharks Basketball team and host many events connected to the sports based in the venue including Boxing, Volleyball, Table Tennis and Netball.

 

Our Partners

EIS Sheffield is home to many other organization that are based in the venue:

Boxing - Both BABA (British Amateur Boxing Association) and ABAE (Amateur Boxing Association of England) have offices and BABA have a dedicated training facility for the use of their athletes in the venue.

Athletics - we have strong links with UK Athletics and England Athletics and we are the training base for Jessica Ennis under the tutelage of her coach Tony Minichiello.

Volleyball - BVF (British Volleyball Federation) are based in the venue and run their Men and Women's teams from here as well as holding many qualifying events in the venue.

Table Tennis - BTTF (British Table Tennis Federation) and BTTAD (British Table Tennis Association for the Disabled) are both based in the venue.

English Institute of Sport, Support Centre - The English Institute of Sport (EIS) works in partnership with sport to improve performances through the delivery of high quality sport science and medical support to elite athletes, through its nationwide network of expertise and facilities.

Netball - England Netball have a regional office in the venue and run a variety of talent camps and training sessions for talented netballers.

World Snooker Academy - an 8 table snooker hall which is used for qualifying events amongst other things is based upstairs at EIS Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Sport - South Yorkshire Sport is a sub regional partnership of decision makers, responsible for the strategic co-ordination and planning of sport and active recreation in South Yorkshire. Their offices are based within EIS Sheffield.

Playing For Success - There is a Playing for Success classroom in the venue. Through Playing for Success, the Department for Education and partners, in this case Sheffield International Venues, are establishing study support centres within sports clubs' grounds and sporting venues. Centres are vibrant, exciting and stimulating places for young people to learn.
